Thankful

Wow! What an amazing weekend! We were privileged to be able to show our stuff at two holiday shows this weekend! After many friends trying to convince me to do a craft show I finally did it! We were blessed to raise some money for our adoptions and at the same time meet some incredible people. It was great to be able to share our stories and bring awareness to the orphan crisis. We are so grateful for everyone that stopped by our booth and most of all we are grateful for your prayers.

Sugar Plum Holiday Shop

My friend Deidre King and I will be at the Sugar Plum Holiday Shop tomorrow and Saturday. If you haven't already take a moment and read about her sweet family on our blog! We will have picture frames, burlap wreaths, ornaments and more! Please help us get the word out.

Sugar Plum Holiday Shop at Kingwood Christian School Friday, November 11th from 4:00 - 9:00 and Saturday, Nov 12th from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Free Admission!! Update!

We were informed by our social worker yesterday that we are #24 on the "dossier waiting list". She said that the way they do the waiting list is by numbering dossiers as they arrive in Ethiopia. This gives us some idea as to the number of families in front of us. Not all families in front of us are requesting the same age/gender of children. When our dossier reached Ethiopia, they were hopeful that referrals would come at 3-6 months. Lately, referrals have been on the longer side of that estimate to become "paperwork ready" and are averaging about 5-6 months (a few families waited 7 months - mostly due to specific age/gender requests). This is actually somewhat of a relief for our family because now we have a better idea of when we will get our referral. The most amazing part of her email was when she said they have referred 7 children to 7 families in the last two weeks! This gave me chills knowing that there are SEVEN LESS orphans! How awesome is that!!!

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9

Poem that touched my heart

This morning I stumbled upon this poem. Needless to say it left me in tears.

KISSES IN THE WIND (The Waiting Child's Lullabye)

I hold you in my heart and touch you in my dreams.
You are here each day with me, at least that's how it seems.

I know you wonder where we are... what's taking us so long.
But remember child, I love you so and God will keep you strong.

Now go outside and feel the breeze and let it touch your skin...
Because tonight, just as always, I blow you kisses in the wind.

May God hold you in His hand until I can be with you.
